Hey! I’m Claire. I’m very excited to be working for All Strong. I’ll tell you a little about myself – I was born in South Africa but have lived in Scotland for 17 years so carry a very strange accent! I come from a rather large family so have always been very friendly and outgoing. I’m a very positive person and will always try to see the good in life and people. I LOVE motivating others to do their best and it really drives me to help others achieve their goals.
I first really got into fitness when I worked as a lifeguard, I would spend time before and after my shift at the gym or running. Hill running was my absolute favourite – I’d easily spend a day out running with my wee spaniel. Now with a 2-year-old, I don’t quite have the time or stamina for that anymore so love nothing more than spending an hour in the gym or heading out on my bike (which are things that we do together).
I have a background in childcare and from working in a private nursery to an Autism specific service I have spent most of my career planning and running child-led sessions. I have always tried to base these around a holistic approach where health and fitness are included as fundamental activities for the children I’ve worked with. I’ve been qualified in swimming teaching, relaxation and mindfulness for children as well as dance classes.
I have a very strong belief that mindfulness, mental well being and fitness go hand in hand and I know I can feel a difference when I haven’t made time to look after my mind and body. I want to help others to overcome their apprehension or barriers to see what fitness can do for the mind and soul.
I can’t wait to get to know you all and start smashing goals!
